Albert the Alligator was new at Swamp Town School. Except, everyone was afraid of him!

"He looks scary!" the kids whispered. Albert felt sad. 

Making friends seemed hard...

Making friends isn't about looking the same -- it's about being kind!

Albert decided to give making friends another chance. 

"How can I show them I want them to be their friend?" he wondered. 

Step 1: Say hello!

Albert took a deep breath. "Hi, I'm Albert!" He said with a big smile. Smiling helps people see you want to be friendly!

Step 2: Be a good listener!

When Mia talked about her favorite game, Albert listened carefully. "That sounds fun!" he said. Listening shows you care about others' thoughts and feelings. 

Step 3: Be helpful!

When one of his classmates dropped their books, Albert picked them up. "Here you Go!" he said

Step 4: Share and take turns!

At recess, Albert let his new friend Ben swing first on the swing. "Thanks, Albert!" said Ben. Sharing helps friendships grow!
