The Araguaia River is one of the biggest rivers in Brazil. It is the home to thousands of animals.
In one town, an 11-year-old boy named Carlos walks along the river every day. But looking at the river makes him worry because there is trash everywhere. He sees plastic bottles and empty food packages. The water looks dark and ugly.

The next day, Carlos woke up and he started to clean the river but he was just one person so he was trying to shout for help. He found a blonde girl named Carla who lived in the woods. Carla helped Carlos to clean the river so first they started with the plastic bottles. They took four hours to take out all the bottles.

The following day, Carlos and Carla went to the river to continue with the clean task. They noticed that the water had oil that caused a terrible smell.
They decided to find out where this oil came from. After walking along the river, they discovered an old factory that made body cream.

Carlos and Carla were looking around the factory and they discovered that the pipes were ok, but suddenly they discovered that the problem came from the garage next to the factory. There were some oil drums with leaks. How did they solve it? Carla went inside the garage to talk with the manager and after that they phoned the environmental police to get the best solution.

The manager, a grumpy man named Mr. Silva, initially refused to listen, but Carla's determination softened him. She explained how the oil harmed the river's wildlife. Inspired, he agreed to fix the leaks. Witnessing this, the environmental police suggested that the children and the manager should organize a community cleanup to rally townsfolk to restore the Araguaia River to its former glory. The manager agreed to help the children and spread the word across the local business community, while the children took on the task of getting help from their peers.
