A couple days after Charlie left Jason was
stacking wood with his brothers at the mill. They
were nearly done with the new hotel. He could
never be so happy, working with his brothers at the
mill as an equal with King by his side. He thought
nothing could be any better.
Then something even better happened, Jamie
came back! He was so happy to see Jamie standing
there on the dock. Jamie just got back from her
tour.

The next day Jason was woken up by a sudden cry
of pain. He quickly rushed out of the cabin to see
Ethan sitting on his knees with 3 logs on his arm.
Jason called for help and Abe came rushing out of
the cabin. They both lifted the logs off of Ethan's
arm. Ethan was rushed inside the cabin.
They used all of the medicine Dawson had. One
week later Ethan was woke up to people surrounding
him. He looked at his arm and noticed bandages all
over his arm. He unwrapped them and everyone
was shocked. Ethan made a full recovery! He could
actually use his arm!

Jason was stacking lumber at the mill like any other
day and Ethan came out with great news. The hotel was
done! Jason rushed through the maze of lumber stacks
to notice a big three story hotel standing there right
outside of the mill! He looked at the name of the mill
and read, Grand Barker Hotel. He thought there was
something fishy going on. So he walked inside the
massive hotel and saw Kid Barker standing there talking
to three men! Jason thought that Kid Barker was
arrested with the rest of Soapy's gang.

Jason tried to get in closer to listen to Kid Barker's
conversation but he was noticed sneaking around and
got kicked out. He was determined to get in there but
he wasn't able to, not now. He didn't know what to do.
So many things were happening all at once. He decided
to go back to the mill and chop more wood. The next
morning Jason did his normal routine, stacking wood,
chopping wood and feeding King but this time
something new happened.

Like every morning Jason was stacking lumber. Once
he finished his shift at the mill, he decided to go for a
walk in the forest with King. On his way in the forest he
ran into a wolf. He quickly pulled out his rifle to fire at
the wolf but he only had one bullet left and the wolf was
charging at him and King. Jason quickly fired but
missed. He didn't know what to do. Suddenly King
jumped right in front of Jason to defend him from the
wolf.

King was strong but not strong enough. the
wolf got a big hit on King. King went flying
through the air and hit a tree. The wolf started
walking towards King. Jason had no time to
save King. His only choices were staying and
dying with King or Running away towards
Dawson. He had to go but he just couldn't
leave King. He did anyway and made it back to
Dawson safely.

The day after that, Jason went back into the
woods with a fully loaded rifle, but only to find
Kings body on the ground with blood
everywhere. Jason dropped to his knees and
started sobbing, he wasn't only sad that King
was dead, but also sad that he had left him
there. Although Jason didn't really have a
choice, he didn't want to die.

Jason wanted to get back to the hotel, but
he wasn't aloud in there. So, he told his
brothers that he couldn't get in and Ethan and
Abe went in the hotel and asked Kid Barker
why he would not let Jason in, Kid Barker had
told them that back in Skagway, Jason had
stolen from him. Abe was dumbfounded, as
was Ethan. They didn't believe Kid Barker.

Abe explained to Barker that Jason would
never steal, Abe and Ethan knew that Kid
Barker was lying. They just knew, even
without proof of anything. A few days later,
Abe, Jason and Ethan went back into the hotel
explaining why they didn't believe Kid Barker.
So, Kid Barker called in his henchmen and they
pulled Abe and Ethan away into a room.
