A firefighter is a man or woman who puts out a fire.

Firefighters usually wear yellow protective 

suits.

Firefighters also wear red hats, along with their yellow 

suit.

Firefighters drive big red trucks, called 

fire trucks.

Firefighters usually keep their fire trucks at a place called a 

fire station.

They can usually detect a fire by seeing or 

smelling smoke.

Firefighters use a thing called a fire extinguisher to help 

them put out the fire.

They may even have to use a ladder!
