Once upon a time, there lived a lonely pirate 

tornado named Spinney. Spinney wanted to 

rule the seas.

"A tornado is a violently rotating column of 

air." (Edwards, 2015)

Little did Spinney know, there were 

others who wanted to rule the seas too!

One day, Spinney encountered a pair of multiple 

vortex tornadoes! They called themselves the 

Ninjanadoes.

"Multiple vortex tornadoes contain two or more 

small, intense subvortices orbiting the center of 

the larger tornado circulation." (Edwards, 2015)

Pulse Doppler Radars are used for seeing 

tornadoes.

No need to fear! Waterspout Man is 

here!

"A waterspout is a tornado over 

water." (Edwards, 2015)

They form over water and flow up 

towards the sky.

So, Waterspout Man gathered all his 

water and winds and tossed the 

Ninjanadoes out to sea.

Spinney thanked Waterspout Man, and 

continued on with his journey.

And so, Spinney traveled to the land 

where the fire whirls roamed.

Spinney had ran into a fire whirl.

"Small-scale, tornado-like circulations can 

occur near any intense heat source. Those that 

occur near intense wildfires are called fire 

whirls." (Wikipedia, 2015)

And of course, they are made of fire.

Spinney saw a funnel of steam forming 

above the volcano.

"A funnel cloud is visible as a cone-shaped or 

needle like protuberance from the main cloud 

base." (Wikipedia, 2015)
