Once upon a time, there was a girl named 

Tulip.   She loved lizards. One day, she thought 

of an idea.   She wanted to build a special town 

for them to protect them from predators. It 

would be called Lizard Town. 

She also thought about having a scanner for 

Lizard Town, so only lizards can come inside.  

There would also be a smaller scanner for flies 

to come in, so lizards could eat them. 

But there was a problem. How could she attract 

lizards to come to Lizard Town? 

Maybe she could put down dead flies as a trail 

that leads to the entrance scanner. Then when 

it beeps, the lizard will be able to run through 

the hole leading to Lizard Town. Then the lizard 

would be safe from predators.

Tulip was so excited.   She built her Lizard Town, 

and the dead flies attracted lizards to come.

Everything was going well at Lizard Town, until 

one of the baby lizards escaped.   Nobody 

noticed her missing.   Then her mother started 

calling her name and no one answered.   She 

started to look for her, but it was too late.  

They saw the baby lizard outside.  

When the baby lizard came out of the town, it 

got scared. 

Suddenly, the baby lizard heard a howl.   Then 

she heard footsteps.   It was a baby gray wolf!  

The baby lizard got frightened by the wolf.  

She started crying because she was so scared.  

 But then the wolf said, "it's all right, I'm nice. 

I wanted to have a friend for years. Will you be 

my friend?" 

The baby lizard dried off her eyes, and said, 

"yes, of course I will be your friend."

She trusted the gray wolf because it was a 

baby, and babies usually tell the truth.

Then they started playing.
