One warm and windy spring
morning a group of tiny fuzzy brown seeds flew by
high across in the sky.

Along their journey they flew past a beautiful
flower garden with brightly colored blooms.

As they whirled by, one little seed named Stanley
wished that one day he would be as beautiful as
those flowers.

After traveling for such a long time the seeds
finally landed in a patch a soft brown soil. They
tucked themselves in and rested.
When the little seeds awoke from their rest they
found that they were now tiny little plants. Stanley
was very excited!

As Stanley grew he thought, "I will be the tallest
and the most beautiful flower ever!".

Stanley and the other plants grew taller and taller,
but no blooms.

Stanley kept growing taller and taller, but
still no beautiful blooms. He was becoming a
little sad until....

Finally, Stanley and his friends began to
bloom. "Oh look at my beautiful orange and
yellow flowers!", Stanley said with such
relief.

They were all so bright and beautiful that soon
they began having visitors.
"Who are you?", ask Stanley. "We are the Monarch
butterflies.", said one of the graceful insects. Then
she ask, "Don't you know who you are?".

"Oh yes, I'm a flower.", answered Stanley.
"You are not JUST any flower! You are a
Milkweed plant! You are the most important
plant to the Monarch's! We would not be able
survive without you!", said the butterfly.

Stanley and the other Milkweed plants felt so
special and were so excited! They watched as the
Monarch's would come and eat nectar from their
blooms.

Then one day Stanley noticed something odd on
his leaves. "What are all these tiny white dots
on my leaves?", he said.
"Stanley", said one of the Monarch's. "These are
our little Monarch eggs. We need you to please
watch over and care for our baby egg's."

Stanley watched carefully over the eggs until one
day a teny tiny little squiggley thing came out of
the egg.
"You are not a butterfly." Stanley said very
disappointed.
"Of course not, I'm a Monarch caterpillar!
"And I'm so very hungry!" said the little caterpillar.

Soon all the eggs hatched with tiny little hungry
Monarch caterpillars.
They all started munching on Stanley.
"Why are you snacking on me?", said Stanley.
"Because you are what we love to eat!", said the
little caterpillars. "That's what makes you so
special to us!"
