Days were passing like crazy wind. I was 

bored of daily routine and wanted to 

have a break. I asked mum to take us 

for a picnic on Chenab River. Mum 

agreed. "Hurrah!". We were going to the 

river bank.    

Next day, I got up quickly, changed my 

clothes, as fast as lightening. The sun 

was scorching. When we reached the 

bank, the sun was roasting us like nuts. 

I could see the birds chirping and the 

waves crashing against the river bank.

While I was playing, I lost my balance 

and fell face down into the river. 

Everyone seemed to be yelling, "He's 

going to drown, somebody save him." Dad 

dived into the water without any second 

thought. I was losing consciousness. 

Suddenly a hand grabbed and pulled me 

up.

I could hear the faint voices of my 

family members and my mother's sigh of 

relief. I regained consciousness. My eyes 

opened slowly to a wonderful view of my 

family. Thank God! I was safe.
