The city that I live in is Lahore. Lahore has
always been my home and it always will be
because I love it and think it’s the best city in
Pakistan. I live with my mother and her
parents in my grandfather’s house. It is a
really big house in DHA phase 1, one of the
most elite residential areas in Lahore.
In Lahore there is not a lot of places
to take rides or play games. I think
that there should be bicycling tracks
for children to ride their bikes on
otherwise children will ride on the
roads and if there is a car coming at
full speed then the child may even die.
They should also have more sports clubs
with more fun and sporty activities.
Lahore is also famous for its historical
monuments, such as the Lahore fort. The
Lahore fort was built on the commands of the
great Mughal emperor Akbar (known as Akbar
the great) Lahore fort is also known as the
“Shahi Qila” in local language. Lahore is also
famous for the Shalimar gardens which are
beautiful in the spring time. The tallest building
in Lahore is called Minar-e-Pakistan, one may
even think that it looks a lot like the Eifel tower,
it may not be as clean but it is surely
breathtaking!

Regardless of all the lack of fun, one the most
disturbing problems in Lahore is that lots of
people in Lahore do not have enough money to
even buy food or clothes. There are many
homeless people who come out on the roads
begging for money. Sometimes I feel really
sorry for them. I think that our government
should do something about providing them
basic necessities in life because lots of people
are dying due to starvation and heat strokes
that happen usually in the hot summer months.

Lahore is famous for its dining and the people
here (including myself) love to eat and eat and
eat! One of Lahore’s most popular foods is aloo
keema, daal chawal and Pulao. One can find
these in many of Lahore’s restaurants.
In Lahore we speak lots of languages such as
Punjabi, Urdu and English. In every private
school in Lahore they teach Urdu or Punjabi
nearly every day 1 million kids learn go to
school.
Built in 1872, Lahore zoo is one of the oldest
zoos in the world.
It is home to many exquisite animals
such as lions, birds, parrots and
tigers. It is one of the most exotic
and biggest zoos in Lahore. Dating over
150 years back, it is still one of the
most exciting places for children to
visit.
