“Good morning Elly!” said Elly the elephants’
mom. “Aren’t you excited for your first day at
your new school?”
“Well, to be honest mom, I’m really nervous…

said nervously.
“Oh honey, you’ll be fine! They
will love you and your sweet

elephant. “Now you go get
yourself washed up, and we’ll
be on our way!” “Don’t forget

yours!”

colored all by herself. All the other elephants would
glance at her and laugh. They would whisper back
and forth and giggle until they couldn’t any more.
Elly just wanted to go home.
When the last recess of the day
came around, Elly went and sat
under a tree and watched all the
other elephants play and laugh
with one another. The good thing
was that everyone stopped
laughing at her. The bad thing
was everyone just ignored her
now. It was like Elly wasn’t even
there.
