Bella the pirate was ready for her trip. She had her ship,
her pirate flags, and her trusty spyglass.
After she pulled out her treasure map, Bella said goodbye
to Maisie, her mermaid friend.

After Bella sailed for a few days, she began to realize
something...
Her skin was starting to turn bright red! And it hurt to
touch it. Bella realized that she forgot sunscreen! And she
had a sunburn!
She needed a plan...and quick! So, Bella decided to sail to
the nearest island to find some sunscreen.

When Bella reached the "Elemental Island," a man walked
out onto the beach. Bella asked if he had any sunscreen
she could use.
"I'm sorry, but I don't have any sunscreen on me.
However, there was a man named Andreas Marggraf,
who was here many years ago, who left a map. Legend
has it there's a hidden treasure that has something to
help protect your skin. Here's the map."
Bella read the map, which said: 'What lies under the X
will solve all your sun problems.'
Bella wasn't sure if she could handle a treasure hunt all
on her own, but she decided to give it a try.

Bella saw that the treasure map had a picture of Elemental
Island. It also had several clues to help her find the treasure.
Clue #1: Your treasure rests where all things transition.
Clue #2: Starting at the left hand corner of the island, walk 4
paces south and 12 to the right.
After 2 hours, Bella made her way to the right area on the
island, which held the treasure. But how would she find and
identify it? Clue #3 said that the treasure was buried beneath
the earth. But, it made up only 0.007 % of earth's crust. That
meant it's pretty hard to find...
Bella needed some more information about the treasure. She
decided to ask the man if Mr. Marggraf had left any other
notes about the treasure.

"Hi. I was hoping Mr. Marggraf left some more information
about the treasure," Bella said.
"Well, it's your lucky day, miss! He happened to leave his
notebook when he rushed back to Berlin."
Bella was relieved. If she knew what the treasure looked like
and what some of its properties where, maybe she would
have a better chance of finding it!
"Here's the notebook. And good luck finding that treasure,"
said the man.
Bella scurried off to read what he had written.
