One morning Emily woke up to find a 

beautiful sight outside her window. 

"It's snowing!"she whispered under her 

warm breathe. She ran to the kitchen 

and asked her mom for her gloves and 

stuff.

She was very happy that she ran out to 

play in the snow.

She danced and played in the snow. She 

wanted to catch a snowflake and show 

it to her mom. But each time she 

caught a snowflake and went to show 

her mom it was melt. She asked her 

mom "Why does the snowflake melt 

before I can show it to you?". 

"Snowflakes melt when they are 

warm" explained her mom.

She was sad because she wanted to keep one 

snowflake for herself. That afternoon the snow 

started to melt. So her mom taught her to 

make paper snowflakes. But she remembered 

that the paper snowflake can never replace the 

real snowflake which twirled and dazzled like a 

diamond. The next morning when she went out 

to play the snow had melted. She felt very sad. 

But then a snowflake came twirling in the 

gentle breeze. But this was not a real one, it 

was decorated with pink sequins and she really 

loved it. She said happily"At last I have found 

the perfect snowflake".
