It was finally my turn to choose where we would go for our family vacation. I wanted to go whale watching. Whales are such massive and magnificent creatures. I wanted to see one up close but it had to be in the open sea where they belong. We flew from Delaware to Nova Scotia. I was so excited the second I touched the ground. Soon we would be going whale watching!

I was a little nervous about being on a boat. I had never been in the ocean and was afraid I'd get sea sick. But that feeling went away the moment I saw my first whale. "Wow! Look at him Dad! Look! Look!" I enthusiastically shouted as I pulled his arm. "I see him Jonah." I was in awe of these creatures. They would come up to the surface and shoot water up into the air. So cool!

I was having the time of my life. The sky was blue and the sun was shining. It had been a perfect afternoon when I noticed that the clouds were starting to darken. The boat began to rock back and forth so everybody headed inside. The captain told us that a big storm was approaching and so we'd have to head back to shore as soon as possible.

The captain had a worried look on his face. The entire crew looked concerned and the others passengers started to get frightened. Without warning two big flashes of lightning crashed into the sea and our ship turned over. Everybody was dumped into the ocean except for me. I never ended up in the water. But if I wan't in the water then where was I?

If I didn't know any better, I could've sworn that I was inside a whale's tummy. He must've gobbled me up before I could fall into the water. I could feel him swimming deep below the ocean. I bounced around his stomach as water and fish came pouring in. Where was he taking me? I guess I would soon find out.

Eventually the whale spit me out and I ended up on the ocean floor. It was so dark I could barely see a thing. "Hey! Where are you going?" I shouted as the whale swam away. "Who dares enter The Kingdom of the Lost City?" an angry voice asked. I turned around to see a mean-looking guard with a trident standing on top of a scary shark. "Um, Jonah from Delaware."
13

14
"Ah yes. The King has ordered for you to speak with him." "Speak to me? Why?" I inquired as I climbed aboard the shark headed for the Lost City. "Kingdom of the Lost City? Do you mean Atlantis?" I asked. The guard didn't say anything as he dropped me off at the front gates of the castle. I wonder what the King of Atlantis wanted with me?
15

16
Before I was allowed inside, I was patted down by a couple of octopi. I tried not to laugh but their tentacles were tickling me. "All clear your Majesty" said one of the octopi. "Welcome to Atlantis Jonah." It was the King. "So it really does exist! But why here?" "My Kingdom is in trouble. The ocean is getting warmer, species are disappearing, and oil spills have nearly destroyed Atlantis."
17

18
"That's my brother Poseidon. He's the one who sunk the ship you were on. Everybody is fine. The whales took them all to shore. "Why am I here? Did you try calling Aquaman? I'm just a 9 year old kid." "An old friend of yours recommended we contact you. He said you were a geography expert and could help us find a new home." "Expert? I got a B+ on my last quiz!"
