One beautiful sunny day in the meadow by the river, Sammy's parents gave him some sad news.
"Sammy", said Mr. Bird, "I have gotten a new job, so we will be moving."
"WHAT!!!", cried Sammy, "I don't want to move!!"

The day Sammy had been dreading finally arrived. It was time to leave the Meadow by the River.
He and his parents loaded up the car and left for their new home, the Big Green Forrest.

"Bye Meadow."

The family settled quickly into their new house. Soon it was time for Sammy to start his first day at his new school.
"I don't want to go. I don't know anyone, and I have no friends." Sammy said, very sadly.
"You will be fine. I am sure you will make plenty of friends. You'll see," replied his mom encouragingly.

Off Sammy flew to school. He was very nervous, and not looking forward to his first day.
Finally, he reached the school. Lots of kids were playing outside. Being new and shy, he went inside to meet the teacher.

"Good morning. You must be our new student, Sammy." Said Mrs. Goose when Sammy entered the classroom.
"Yes I am," replied Sammy shyly.
"Well it sure is nice to meet you," said Mrs. Goose. "Take a seat here up front. Everyone will be coming inside soon."

"Class, please help me welcome our new student, Sammy, to our school. He just moved in to our forest."
Everyone in the class introduced themselves to Sammy, and made him feel welcome. Next to him was Tom Raccoon, and Samantha Squirrel, and Adam Ant sat behind him.

"Maybe it won't be so bad here after all," thought Sammy to himself.
