There once was a bee who had no time at all. He had no time to bother, and no time to talk small. He grew busier and busier as the hours went by, his work day stretching from sunset to sunrise.
This bee was named Bob and he lived in a hive where the others would never work quite as hard. They did what they had to, just barely enough, and when all that was over they would sit down for an early lunch.
Bob was unhappy with his buzzing friends and he wished for a day when his long work would end. There was always more honey needed for the hive, but a nice break would definitely have been nice.
He'd ask his fellow bees if they could cover for a while, so he could sleep on a flower, just relax for a time. After all, Bob did the same for all of them. He would make up for their work as they went and had fun.
But no bee would help Bob. Not even one. They were all playing games, and were far from being done. They told him to wait until they had time to spare, from flying around just about everywhere.
So Bob thought one day that it really meant nothing. He'd head out one day and see how others lived. He saw that the squirrels in their trees had everything they need, and still had time to take naps in the leaves.
Bob wanted to know how they lived as a group, living as one in a lone oak tree. And a happy squirrel told him,"No one needs to get work for another. I collect hazelnuts at my leisure and have time to go out and play in the stream. I've seen many others who do what they have to, for the good of the one with the most greed."
And Bob finally learned that he could not spend time working and working for other's delight. He knew what to change and where he should do it, and he left for the hive, to make it a new one where bees would all work for their own good, and a hive could be built where a dream would.
