dedicated to my boy Lucas because he speaks for the trees.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Jason. Jason was 10 years old and loved to play around in the forest near his house, which was the only source of trees around. He always climbed the trees, explored the forest, played with bugs and dirt, and even built forts. He would always go home a mess.

Jason went to school the next day excited to learn. In class his teacher,
Mrs. Babwah was teaching them about nature. Specifically about trees and Jason was glad that they were learning this. Mrs. Babwah told him and his classmates that trees are the main source of air, and their the reason we are breathing right now.

Mrs. Babwah was also talking about a problem called deforestation. Jason raised his hand and asked what deforestation was. She then explained that it was when trees are cut down and used for other resources

What is... deforestation?

The whole class is confused as to what the trees were getting cut down for. Mrs.
Babwah told them that the trees are used for things like fuel, furniture, houses and more. Jason asked what would happen if we cut down all the trees?

What happens when we cut down al the trees?

Mrs. Babwah said that if all the trees were cut down there would be no more air to breathe and there would be floods because trees help absorb water. She said we would be in deep trouble.
It would cause floods and there would be no air.
Jason did not like this, after school Jason went to the forest and put posters on every one of the trees so that the government wouldn't cut down his forest. He was going to save the trees but overnight he could not stay there to watch the trees and he also had to go to school.

Dont cut down trees

Dont cut down trees

One day he came home from school and went over to the forest to find that they were cutting down the trees. Jason ran over to the men and women cutting down the trees and told them that they can't cut the trees down or we won't be able to breathe. They just laughed at him and continued doing what they were doing.
