Introduction
This book will teach you about the families and properties of elements on the periodic table. A family on the periodic table is also known as a 'group' which will identify the type of element you are looking at (eg. solids, liquids and gases).
Families
The most common families on the periodic table are: I) metals,) II)nonmetals, III) metalloids.
More in-depth families are further divided as: a) alkali metals, b) alkaline earth metals, c) transition metals, d) halogen gases, and e) noble gases. These were just a few of the many families on periodic table.
Properties
I) A metal can be characterized as:
A) typically hard, opaque, shiny
B) good electrical and thermal conductivity
C) malleable (can be hammered or pressed permanently out of shape without breaking or cracking,as well as fusible and ductile.
