Poland is a country in Central Europe on the Baltic Sea, a member of the European Union and NATO. It borders with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Russia (Kaliningrad Region). The population of Poland is 38 161 300 (2005)., Its total area is 312 685 km². The capital of Poland is Warsaw. Poland is divided into provinces, districts and municipalities and there are 16 provinces.

The development of tourism is related to the development of civilization, wealth . In today's world tourism is a rapidly growing area of life factor in the development of culture, mutual understanding and economic activity.

Tourism is a very important source of income for the population of our country and it's particularly attractive to the tourists. Arrangement of tourist and holiday in Poland is very uneven. This is influenced by topography, climate, abundance of water, vegetation. The attractiveness is also communication, accommodation, catering, equipment and sports facilities, retail outlets and cultural entertainment.


The most attractive are the mountain regions, coastal, lake districts. The Baltic Sea coast attracts tourists mainly during the summer. The attractiveness is the beaches, baths and inhalation beneficial iodine. The most popular mountain region in Poland is the Carpathian, especially Tatra's mountains and the "Polish winter capital" - Zakopane. Tourists also come to the Sudeten to rest in Kłodzko and Jelenia Góra. The lakeland region in Poland is Masuria region.



ZAKOPANE
ZAKOPANE - the largest cultural and touristic center in Poland. Polish largest winter sports resort (cable, ski lifts). Spa using climatic conditions and warm springs (Antałówka).
