The very beginning of WWII started off with the Treaty of Versailles. It was when all the leaders around the world came together to punish Germany after they lost the war. Their punishment was to pay for all destruction, they could no longer have a large military, and their territories were taken away. With these punishments, Germany was left in aw and very depressed. They became desperate for a leader who could help them and had money.
Germany did what they had to do to feel safe so they elected Adolf Hitler as their dictator. They realized he had money and could possibly help them. He used propaganda to persuade civilians to vote for him. When Hitler was elected, he decided to team up with totalitarian leaders, Joseph Stalin and Benito Mussollni. Becoming strict and evil, Hitler was known as dictator for Germany.
After WWII had begun, the United States decided to stay isolated from the war because they felt that it was not their problem, not their business. So they passed the Neutrality Act which was the act to stay neutral during the war. Apparently that didn't last long. The United States started to support the Allies. This then led to the Lend Lease Act. That was the act that said the U.S was able to give supplies and resources to the Allies.

The Axis Powers felt that if the United States wants to help their enemies, then they must be an enemy too. So they went into attack mode and bombed Pearl Harbor. The United States was really mad about this and was very shocked but soon realized that this meant war.

The United States President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, decided to start interment camps for Japanese Americans. These interment camps were like prisons and they tortured many innocent Japanese Americans because of the disruptions Japan created. FDR had a feeling that any Japanese American could be an addition to the Japans and their attack on the U.S. FDR did what he felt was best to keep the rest of the country safe.
