Last night I had a dream about the moon. 

 It was dark outside and I was scared and alone.

As I was just a kid, not yet full grown.  

I said, “Where are you day, its night and I’m scared?”

“Shhh,” God said, “day is asleep and it has no care.”

I said, “But I am afraid, I can’t see, its dark at night without the sun’s light.”  

“My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid.”

“When it’s dark, I’ll give you the moon to show you the way.”

Last night I had a dream about the stars.

 The sun was setting outside and I felt very afraid.

I don’t want to be in the dark, at night when its late.  

I said, “Where are you moon? Come back sun!”

“Shhh”, God said, “the moon and sun are sleeping tonight.”

I said, “But I can’t see in the dark with no sun or moonlight.”  

“My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid.”

“When it’s dark, I’ll give you the stars to show you the way.”

Last night I had a dream about fireflies.  

It was dark outside and I felt very afraid.

There were no stars or moon to light the way. 

 I said, “Wake up stars, wake up moon!”

“Shhh,” God said, “the moon and stars are sleeping tonight.”

 I said, “But I can’t see in the dark, in the night, without light.” 

 “My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid,”

“When it’s dark, I’ll give you fireflies to show you the way.”

Last night I had a dream about a lighthouse.  

It was dark outside, and I was at sea.

Adrift in the ocean on a raft, made just for me.  

I said, “Come back moon and stars, please light the shore.”

“Shhh” God said, “the moon and stars are sleeping tonight.”

 I said, “But I can’t see the shore in the night without light.”  

“My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid.”

“When it’s dark, I’ll give you a lighthouse to show you the way.”

Last night I had a dream about a rainbow.  

It was dark outside and it gave me a scare.

It was threatening to rain and thundering up there.  

I said “Where are you blue sky, where are you sun?”

“Shhh” God said, “the sun and the sky are sleeping tonight.”

I said, “But I can’t see with the clouds covering up all the light.”  

“My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid,”

“When it’s dark, I’ll give you a rainbow to show you the way.”

Last night I had a dream about the sun.  

It was dark inside and it made me feel sad.

I was thinking of all the things I’ve done bad.  

I said, “Where are you light, where are you sun?”

“Shhh” God said, “the sun is sleeping tonight.”

I said, “But I’m sad in here, it feels dark without the light.”  

“My dear child, I am here, do not be afraid.”

“When it's dark inside, I’ll give you my Son Jesus to show you the way.”
