The Great War, other wise know as World War One was one of the biggest wars of all time. Millions of people died on both sides of the war.

The Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance where the two main alliance systems of World War 1. The Triple Entente consisted of Great Britain, Russia, and France. The Triple Alliance consisted of Italy, Germany, and Austria-Hungary

Trench Warfare

Trench warfare was not a new creation in WW1, but no other war had it to the same extent. Trench warfare was the use of defensive trenches on both sides, running parallel to each other with no-mans land in the middle. Conditions were terrible and cramped and many died of sickness. Trenches were the leading cause of WW1's stalemate, because it allowed for such strong defenses.
