Hello kids, I am Roy B. Brown, the chairman of the Arapaho nation. Would you like me to tell you about the history of the Arapaho? Great! Let us start with an origin story that I believe you will like.

A very long time ago, a man with a flat pipe was walking on the water in search for land to place the pipe down onto. He summoned some trees and animals and asked them where land was. None of them knew where land was, except for the turtle. He said it was at the bottom of the ocean. The man sent many groups down to get the land, but only the 7th try worked. He dried out the small bit of land and spread it out to create the world.

The Arapaho people came from what is now Colorado and Wyoming and crossed the Missouri river to get where they are now. Rumor has it, that Arapaho people have been spotted in the Dakota’s and Montana in the 1700’s.
