Once there were two brothers Alex and Max. All of Max's land was in the South and Alex's land was in the North. One day there was land that Max used to own but didn't anymore. Alex decided that he wanted the land. This land was called Texas.

Alex and his friend Polk also wanted these other lands named California and New Mexico. In 1845, Alex gained Texas but Max thought this was an act of war. Max and his friends decided to attack Alex's friends on April 25, 1846.

After the attack another problem rose. Alex said the border was the Rio Grande River. Max disagreed. He said the border of his land and Alex's land was the Nueces River.

On May 13, 1846 Alex and his friends declared war on Max and his friends. Alex's friend, General Keanry, captured a city in New Mexico name Santa Fe. Before this he invaded New Mexico without firing a single shot.

Later, the land called California founded its flag known as the Bear Flag Republic. A battle including Max's friend Santa Anna in Buena Vista ended fighting in the North. Later in 1847, Zachary Taylor from Alex's land captured all towns along the border.

On February 2, 1848 the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed. Alex gained Texas and more of Max's land called the Mexican Cession. Which is California, Arizona and other western territories. In return Alex gave Max 15 million dollars.
