Hello!

My name is Otto.

I am 8 years old and I live in Berlin, Germany.

I live here with my mom.

My family and I are living during World War II.

This means that people are fighting all around us and planes are dropping bombs on my town every day.

It is very scary. My family prays a lot.

I have a group of friends that like to play outside with me and we enjoy walking to school together.

But sometimes when we are outside we hear a loud siren that can be heard from miles and miles away. This means that the planes are coming, to drop the bombs.

When the sirens went off my friends and I had to run home really fast and we went with our families to stay safe in our basements.

The sirens make my stomach hurt but when I'm with my mom in the basement she makes me feel safe.

We talk about things that make us happy and try to ignore the loud noises.
