Martin the mouse was collecting food for the winter when an owl called out to him,

"Hey little mouse why don't you come over here".

The mouse replied, "No, I know if I go over there you will just eat me!"

The owl was hurt by this said "I would never hurt you! I just want a friend.

The mouse ignored her and continued on with his work. The owl called out again, and Martin ignored her again.

It was getting late so Martin started cleaning up his food and bringing it inside.

But Martin couldn't fall asleep, he was tossing and turning thinking about how rude he had been to the owl earlier that day. He decided that when he got up the next morning he would find her and apologize.
