I dedicate this book to my daughter Jade and Lulu and to the memory of my dad. Also, to all little girls young and old that lost their dad, may you live in honor of his memory.

Lulu looked lovingly at the photo with tears in her eyes. Her and her family had been so happy then, posing outside their family restaurant. Every day after school, Lulu would sit down at the pizza counter and her dad would serve her an ice-cold lemonade. She would tell him all about her day. Then, her and her mother would go upstairs to their apartment and work on Lulu's homework. All of that was gone now, Lulu thought. She looked out the window of the airplane. She had dreamed of her first airplane ride being on a trip to Disney World with her family. Instead, her and her mother flew to England, her father was in Heaven now, and her whole life had changed in an instant.

When Lulu and her mom arrived in England, they met Lulu's mom's friend, who took them to her home in Notting Hill where they would stay temporarily. The woman asked Lulu and her mom to pose in front of her flat, which Lulu found out meant apartment. Lulu decided to smile, even though her heart was broken and she missed her old home terribly. She knew she had to be strong for her mom, her dad would have wanted her to be.

Lulu and her mom spent the day site seeing. Lulu's mom told Lulu that her dad had always wanted to see Big Ben, so that is where they went first. Lulu liked seeing the double-decker buses. She also liked that many people sat outside and picnicked. Lulu thought of her dad, and wished he could be with them, to picnic with them, and drink an ice-cold lemonade all together. She missed him so much her stomach hurt.

Lulu and her mom took a stroll in London. Lulu's mom pointed out the words on the street reminding them to look left. "In England, they drive on different sides of the street than they do back home," Lulu's mother explained. "You will get used to it, but until then, make sure you pay close attention and hold my hand." Lulu noticed a taxi cab, they looked very different than the yellow and black ones from back home.

Lulu and her mom went into a small sweet shop, which Lulu found out meant candy store. Lulu's mom showed Lulu how different the money was in England. Small coins were sometimes worth more than big coins. The shopkeeper had to help Lulu's mom pick out the right coins to pay for Lulu's lollipop. This made Lulu scared, in this new place, even her mom wasn't sure how to do things. Lulu wanted to cry, she missed her dad, and she missed her home. Despite her fear and sadness, Lulu kept up her smile and ate her lollipop. She would be brave for her mom, that is what her dad would have wanted.

Lulu and her mom went out to a pub for lunch. Pub, Lulu found out, was like a bar, but with better food. Lulu tried not to tear up as she ordered a lemonade. She knew the taste would make her less home sick, but it also made her sad. She missed her dad and she was sad he could not be there with them. When the waitress returned with her drink, Lulu noticed it did not look like lemonade. It looked like soda. She told the waitress that she must have made a mistake. The waitress explained to her that in England, lemonade was lemon soda. Lulu could not take it anymore, she began to cry.
