What is your Favorite type of cat? Mine is the Turkish Angora.

I have two Turkish Angoras and their names are Flash and Red Star. This is Red Star.

Flash is a tortie smoke with green eyes. Red Star is a Red Classic Tabby.

Red Star has been to New York Cities Convention Center for Meet the Breeds.

I used to have another Turkish Angora whose name was Irvie. He looked just like this.

Turkish Angoras are an ancient breed from Turkey. They were first exported in the 1600's to France, Britain and thought to have made their way to America with the early settlers.

Currently you can find them in Turkey, Sweden, the United States, Canada and Britain. They are pretty rare. All registered Turks have to be able to be traced back to Turkey's Ankara Zoo. See Map

Silky, medium length coat

No undercoat

almond shaped eyes

Turks are known to love high places, like on top of doors, the refrigerator and anywhere near the ceiling. They can jump to amazing heights. Both of mine find the highest places they can to relax!
