Once upon a time, in a land far away, called Hawaii, there lived a big group of ants.

The ants were hungry all the time so they would search for fruit on the island.

 The island was healthy and the trees would grow lots of good fruit for the ants.

Some ants were stronger than others and could carry more fruit.

They would bring all the fruit they collected back to the rest of the group and share so everyone could eat.

The ants had to walk very far every day to find food and bring it back. They’d get really tired.

One day, Amaui the Ant came up with a great idea to help the ants.

“We can build homes closer to the fruit trees so we don’t have to walk as far!”

The ants loved her idea.

“We’ll build our homes around a bigger area where we’ll keep the fruit we get. We can keep it 

safe that way!” 

They all went together to find the perfect spot for their new homes.

After they found the spot where they would build, they decided who would do what.
