AN ACCIDENT

The express bus provided more comfortable travelling for passengers especially those travelling to far places. However, there are quite a number of express buses involved in tragic accidents. Just recently an ill-fated express bus was involved in such an accident right in front of my house.

The bus was travelling to Kuala Lumpur from Batu Pahat town, transporting a total of 40 passengers. It was obviously speeding although approaching a sharp cornering in front of my house. Suddenly, it went out of control and rammed into the utility poles. Ambulances and firemen were rushed to the scene to help the rescue effort. Six passengers,seriously injured, were sent to the nearest General Hospital. The bus driver sustained minor injury. Other passengers were lucky to escape unhurt.

I felt sorry for all the passengers in the express bus especially those who suffered serious injury. They were in seventh heaven and keen in travelling to their favourite destinations yet the calamity had ruined everything.

In order to protect both the express bus driver and passengers, they are ways to prevent the accidents. Firstly, the bus companies and Road Transport authority should conduct regular and stringent checks. Next, the express buses must be in tip top condition. Then, bus drivers should be given adequate training to handle express buses. Lastly, to attract the best drivers for your buses, companies should be ready to pay the best salary.

Preventative measures must be taken to prevent any catastrophe from happening. Life is precious, do not let your life to be taken away from your loved ones.
