World War One Propaganda

Even today there is a
lot of debating about
the actual definition of
propaganda. We will
define propaganda as
the lying, manipulating,
or omission to citizens
that favors the
government. Others
may just define it as
lying blatantly,
although omission is a
form of lying that must
be addressed.


Many isolate propaganda purely with World War
One, although propaganda is something that has
been used in every war in order to rally support
the war. This requires all information to be
regulated. Which translates into the government
actually lying to its citizens be omission.


There are many effects that
propaganda have people, hence
why it is used. Many historians
believe that if propaganda wasn't
used then countries such as the
United States would have never
entered the war. Others believe that
ignoring propaganda would have
shortened the length of the war,
therefore saving many lives.

The United States
was not the only
country how acted in
this unlawful ways.
France and Germany
also were highly
involved in the use of
propaganda.
Although, after the
war there was many
backlash from
citizens. Many citizens
didn't trust their
homeland anymore
and to this day still do
not.



The United States is oft though to e the
most guilty of using this action. We had
many posters potraying Uncle Sam as a
man who wanted to go to war, instead of
one that promotes peace. Propoganda was
