The patriots fought for their country in the revolutionary war. They had many disadvantages at the start but pulled through and won the war and became a free country from Britain's rule

They fought on their own land which helped them know shortcuts, hiding spots, and anything else that might be useful to them.

They knew how far their destinations were and how long it would take to get there. Even with all of this in their favor they sometimes had to fight in new, unfamiliar places that they didn't know. But after time they had a pretty god idea of where they were and how to get around.

The patriots also had better weapons than the British. They had longer range and had better accuracy on them. They could be hiding and see a British soldier far away and catch them by surprise.

They had previous war experience which helped them to learn from their mistakes and do better in this war and helped them defeat the British. They had fought in the French and Indian war which gained them France as an ally in the Revolutionary war.
