There once was a king named Otis, and very haughty was he.

For he claimed that nothing could hurt him: no virus, no germ, no disease.

His subjects who were quite wise saw this fatal flaw and begged their beloved ruler to listen to them all.

“Sire, sire, please consider this: vaccines help protect you so your life you won’t miss.” King Otis scoffed, “Oh Petey, can’t you see, nothing can hurt me: no virus, no bacteria, no disease.” 

Miss Barbara spoke up, “My king, my king, you must know, that vaccines can prevent measles, diphtheria, pertussis, rubella, mumps, tetanus, rotavirus, Haemophilus type b, hepatitis a, hepatitis b, influenza, meningococcal, pneumococcal, chickenpox, and polio.” 

“Oh Miss Barbara,” the King replied, “no one gets those diseases anymore. They up and died.”
