It’s December.

It’s a very cold morning.  It’s snowing.

 James gets up to see the snow from the window of his bedroom.

“Wonderful!” he shouts “It’s snowing”!

He puts his clothes on, he runs into the garden and he starts to make a snowman.

First he makes the big body, then puts a big ball of snow on the body for the head. He makes the arms, the legs, too. At the end he makes the mouth.He gives him a scarf and a hat, a tangerine for a nose and lumps of coal for his buttons and his eyes. “What a wonderful snowman!” James says and goes back home. During all the day he thinks about the snowman.

During the night James can’t sleep because he is thinking about his beautiful snowman. In the middle of the night he goes down to see the snowman again.

Then suddenly..the snowman moves!

He’ s a very polite snowman. When he meets James he puts his hat off.

“Hello, I’m James “ says the child “Please, come in”. The two go inside the house.  They go in the living room, in the kitchen.The snowman is surprised by everything he sees; the TV, the fridge, the table, the chair, the toys.

They even go to James’parents bedroom. They are sleeping. The snowman puts on their clothes: trousers, socks, jumper, coat.

Suddenly the snowman takes James by hand and runs with him out of the house, across the snow. And up, up into the air.

They are flying in the sky. It’s really wonderful!

James and the snowman fly for miles through the cold night air. They see towns, villages, mountains, rivers , lakes, seas.

Then they land in a wood where hundred snowmen dance and sing. There is Father Christmas with his reindeer, too. James is very, very happy.
