Music is a wonderful thing in the world.
You most likely know some things about it and the instruments that are used to play it.
But Do You Know It All?
Let's start with basics. Such as reading it, first of all you have to know what music looks like.
Here is a picture to show you.
This music is written in Bass Clef with a 4/4 time signature and 2 sharp key signature.
There are 2 clefs Bass (Left) and Treble (Right)
there are others but these are the most common.
Key signitures show what types of notes you play, and whether you play sharp (left) or flat (right) notes.
The order of flats is B-E-A-D-G-C-F
The order of sharps are F-C-G-D-A-E-B
Time signatures tell you how many beats are in a measure and what note gets the beat.
In 4/4 there are 4 notes in a beat and the quarter note gets the beat.
The top/left number shows beats in a measure.
The bottom/right number show which note gets the beat.
Time signatures look like this.
As seen on the left there are 4 beats a measure with the quarter note getting the beat.
The right is the same but there is 3 beats a measure.
We will now move onto instruments. There are many well know instruments such as the trombone, flute, tuba, trumpet, clarinet, and saxophone.
With instruments there are different sub-names which tell the pitch the instrument plays.
Piccolo = Very high
Soprano = High
Alto = Semi-High
Tenor = Semi-Low
Baritone = Low
Bass = Very Low
Contrabass = Extremely Low
Sub-Contrabass = Incredibly Low
Here are some examples are Piccolo instruments. Such as the Piccolo Flute, Piccolo Trombone, and Piccolo Trumpet
