Month 3- Fetal Development

• fetus is about an inch long
• nostrils, mouth, lips, teeth buds, and eyelids form

• uterus is about the size of an orange

Month 4- Fetal Development

• can suck thumb, swallow, and hiccup
• facial features are clearer

• discomfort of early pregnancy are gone
• increased appetite

Month 5- fetal development

• fetus is about 6-7 inches long
• fetus weighs about 4-5 ounces
• hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows appear
• fetus is more attive

• fetal heartbeat is heard through stethoscope
• quickening

Month 6- Fetal Development

• fetus is about 8-10 inches long
• fetus weighs about 8-12 ounces
• fat is depositing under the skin
• fetus looks wrinkles
• breathing begins

• 10-12 weight gain

Month 7- Fetal Development

• fetus is to 10-12 inches long
• weighs about 1-2 pounds
• eyelids separate
• vernix develops

Month 8- Fetal Development

• fetus is 14-16 inches long
• fetus may react to jerking and noises
• fetus has moved to head down position

• backaches, leg cramps, shortness of breath, fatigue
• fetal kick are felt
