My Mom's Pregnancy

My Mom said that she had a very easy pregnancy with me. She was traveling all the way till her eighth month and she worked out till her fifth month. She said that even during he first three months (first trimester) that she only threw-up very little and thought she would be a lot more uncomfortable but she wasn't.

Names

My name is Arya. My parents decide to give me this name for a few reasons: the meaning which is honorable and noble, it is a name of a goddess, it was the name of a great scientist and short, simple and easy to pronounce. Before they picked Arya they thought of the names Yasmine and Tulsi. They hadn't even considered boys names even though they hadn't confirmed my gender.

Oct. 6, 2001

My mother was in labor for about 6 hours when giving birth to me. When I was born I was about 7.5 pounds and was about 19 inches long.

Firsts

I was about 5 months old when my first tooth started coming in, 11 months old when I took my first step, 20 months old when I was potty trained and in 2nd grade when I lost my first tooth.

Am I normal?

The average length of a baby is 20 inches with a normal range length of 18 to 22 inches. I was 19 inches so I barley made the cut into the normal range. The average weight of a baby is 7.7 pounds with a normal range weight of 6 to 9 pounds. I was 7.5 pounds so I was pretty normal. Most kids start walking between 9 to 12 months and I was a little late with 11 months.

Vision

My vision is -2.75 on both eyes. I wear contacts when I go out and wear glasses in my house. I realized I needed glasses in seventh grade and then I started wearing contacts in eighth grade.

Puberty

I think puberty is the change in your body to show that you are maturing and getting ready for reproduction. I also think puberty does not come at a fixed age. I think that it comes at a different time for different people because each person's body is different.

Story Time

Emily (early bloomer) and Jenna (late bloomer) have the same and different experiences. Emily feels awkward that she is the only one going through these problems but when Jenna went through all of this she felt awkward because she was so far behind all of her friends.

Firsts Pt.2

My first word was Amma which means mom. I said this word when I was about 9 months old.

Language

I didn't really say any funny words or phrases and I didn't experience any language barriers.
