There once lived a girl with blonde hair and a blue dress,

Who would marry a prince and become his princess.

I am her step-sister; my name is Drizella.

And I have been personally victimized by Cinderella.

When my mother remarried, our family grew,

And instead of one sister, I suddenly had two.

I don’t know which version you have been told,

But this is how the story actually unfolds.

Before Cinderella came into my life,

My world was filled with neither anger nor strife.

Then in she barged like a bat out of hell,

And to my life as I knew it, I bid farewell.

From the moment she arrived it was all about her.

I became her personal babysitter and chauffeur.

She jumped at every opportunity to cause an upheaval,

Stealing my clothes, eating my food, and calling me “evil.”

In spite of all this, there remained in my heart,

A soft spot for the pest who was tearing me apart.

For I knew she was young and had much to learn still,

So I tolerated Cinderella against my will.

But Cinderella would plot, as if setting a trap,

To push all of my buttons until I would snap.

So occasionally I’d lose it when she’d pull my last straw,

And somehow that was all that the world ever saw.
