Women Of The War.

The women that were alive during the Civil War sometimes were nurses, spies, soldiers, and abolitionists.

Once upon a time there was a African American named Harriet Tubman. She guided many along the route of the underground railroad. She led many slaves to freedom. Tubman herself was once a slave and escaped slavery. Harriet Tubman risked her life to help others become free. She did all of this during the Civil War. Harriet Tubman was an abolitionist.

During the Civil War there was a lady named Susan B. Anthony who was an abolitionist. She was the main figure in the Women's Voting Rights movement. She was a lecturer. She believed that everyone deserved equal rights. She worked as the agent of the American Anti-Slavery Society.

Lucretia Mott was one of the leading voices of the abolitionist and feminist movements of her time. Lucretia Mott helped create the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society in 1833, and later was among the founders of the American women's rights movement.
