When he was just 13, Jackson joined the local militia and was captured by the British. After the war he went to be a lawyer. He moved to Tennessee to get more money. He entered the politics in Tennessee, serving in both the House and Senate.
Jackson had three week journey from Nashville, Tennessee to Washington DC. fright by steamboat then yo Pittsburgh Pennsylvania then onward by carriage.

It marked the commencement of the first four years terms of Andrew Jackson as president. So he was going to make a speech
