Salmon had always been a popular fish. He zipped around the lake bed, showing off to all the minnows. His sleek scales shimmered in the light of the sun, shining through the calm water above them.

"Good morning, young Salmon," greeted wise old Bass.
"Good morning to you too," replied Salmon, as he zipped along the lake bed.
Though Bass had said his hellos to Salmon, something seemed off. However, he just kept swimming. While on his stroll, he noticed a big group of fish crowded around something, no, someone.

"He's so muscular," shouted one fish.
"And look at his fins!"
Salmon was speechless. He was supposed to be the strong one. He had cool fins too! He swam over to get a closer look and sure enough, the new comer who called himself Round Goby, was a small, but sleek fish. A nice looking fish indeed, but something was too fishy about him. He smelled odd and almost seemed as if he wasn't meant to be here.

But how would he figure out what was up with Goby? He searched for hours and hours, going from rock to rock, asking if anyone knew about a fish like him.
But everyone replied with "Yeah, he's the new one, right?"
Salmon who was eventually growing tired of hearing this over and over decided to stop at two more boulders, then go home. He knocked on the second to last one, and out popped an old little sucker.

"Why hello there," babbled the sucker.
"Yes, uhm, Hi," Salmon replied feeling slightly awkward, "would you know a way I could find some information on a certain fish?"
"Hmm, why don't you come inside. Then maybe I could help you."
Salmon had heard stories of minnows being swept up and never seen again by other fish, but surely he would be okay. Hesitantly, he swam inside.

It was nice and cozy inside the old sucker's house. He swam over to a seat and sat down next to the her.
"So, you want to learn about the new fish," he said. "I do not know exactly, but I know someone who might."
Salmon listened closely as Sucker gave him some information.

About an hour later Salmon left the old sucker's house and went home to pack. Salmon was about to go on a very long journey.

Salmon swam up and down rivers pushing against the current, and swam through lakes he didn't know even existed. Day after day, be began to become more and more exhausted.
