My name is Rosie and I live with my mom Ana and my dad Ivan. I have always wanted to travel and my first stop is Ellis Island!!!

I leave for my trip in the morning. I already have everything packed, and I already said my goodbyes.

I am excited to travel and go see new places, but I am also nervous because I don't want to leave my family.

Last night I could barely sleep I was nervous and excited all at the same time!

In my dreams I kept dreaming that I got pushed overboard and now that's all I can think about.

Rosie's Dream:

Today I head off on my first official trip!!! I am not nervous anymore because my mom was telling me all the great stories she's heard. A lot of people refer to it as "The Promise Land," which gives me hope that I will be fine.

We had to travel to where I was going to board the boat, and seeing all the places was very exciting.

Once we got there I had to hurry because the boat was about to leave, so I only was able to see my parents for a couple of minutes.

The boat is crowded with people heading to Ellis Island. Some travelling alone, like me, and some travelling with family.

Seeing all the people makes me feel less nervous because I know that I won't be alone.

The people next to me on the boat are really nice, they have a little baby with them. The baby helps keep me occupied throughout the day.
