BRE'R RABBIT AND THE TAR BABY

For Chantel and Alissa, thank you for raising us so well and for being our parents.

Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit do not like each other. So, Brer Fox comes up with a genius plan to try and get rid of Brer Rabbit.

He decides to get some sticky tar. He uses the sticky tar to create something unbelievable. He creates a life-sized baby! His genius plan is to have Brer Rabbit’s hand touch the tar baby.

If Brer Rabbit touches the tar baby, his paw will be stuck to the sticky tar. If his paw is stuck, then he cannot escape Brer Fox! On a nice morning Brer Fox wakes up from a relaxing sleep.

He cannot help but smile at himself.

He happily grabs his genius creation and heads outside. An excited Brer Fox places his sticky tar baby onto the road.

After he sets up his evil and genius trap, he sees the rabbit hopping in the distance. He quickly runs away and hides near the tar baby.  

Brer Rabbit walks along the main road of their village when he spots a figure up ahead. He quickly hops up to the person and realizes  it is a small baby. Excited, the rabbit begins to talk to the baby.  

Good morning little one! What brings you out here?

The baby looked on and said nothing. The fox looked on from his hiding spot. His plan was working.

The rabbit is confused.

Thinking the tar baby didn’t hear him, the rabbit begins to yell.

I SAID: HELLO LITTLE ONE. WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE.
