The Chaparral biome goes by different names, depending on where it is located in the world.You may hear it called the Chaparral in southern California, the Matorral in Chile, the Fynbos in South Africa, the Mallee in Australia, and finally the Maqui in the Mediterranean Basin.
This biome has mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers. Temperatures range from 40-65 degrees Fahrenheit in the winters, with 5-25 cm of rainfall and 60-85 degrees in the summer, with very little precipitation.
