This story fell into place as if it wanted to be written. I was inspired to create this fractured tale based on the classic, The Princess and the Pea, with a strong female lead character who values kindness. I had a wonderful time putting the story together and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Happy reading,
Brittany Hobbins

Once upon a time, in the beautiful Kingdom of Rah, there lived a strong princess named Nicole with her father and mother, the King and Queen of Rah.

Princess Nicole worked hard with her parents to maintain a peaceful kingdom filled with happy and well-treated citizens. They did such a good job that they were the talk of the land. The princess decided she wished to marry a man that would be able to help her maintain the kingdom after her mother and father passed away.
The princess went on a long journey, searching far and wide for a prince that would be her equal. She returned to the palace after many months of travel, disappointed that she did not find a prince to marry.

One day there was a monstrous storm. The palace doors blew open to reveal a strong man carrying in a hurt towns-person. They were immediately welcomed into the palace and given medical treatment, clean clothes and a small plate of food, on the princess' orders. She thought the man very kind and handsome. She ordered a room to be set up for the visitors.
