
Gettysburg DAY 1
The first day of the battle. In a small town called Gettysburg and all Southern soldiers have been suffering of enemy formation for three days. The beginning of the battle started when the Union army came into town looking for boots and all they found was the Confederate army.
Then triggering the Battle of Gettysburg began on July 1st 1863. Confederate raiding

party exchanged fire with Union forces. They wanted to not let Union forces entrench themselves.
They consolidated to higher ground and ordered General Ewell to attack as soon as possible. General Ewell took to long which resulted in the Federals time to establish a good defense.
And the Confederate General wanted the army to move east to take a defensive position

The Confederat came called for their main forces to reinforce men they had lost that day.
All of this could have been avoided if they had the proper footwear and proper boots.
DAY 2
On July 2nd, General Lee, the Confederate Army, ordered an attack on the left side of the Union line. Lee knew that he could win the battle if his troops could overtake Little Roundtop from the Union Army.
Lee's troops could easily fire down on the Union position. Confederate troops fought

viciously for Little Roundtop. The fighting was especially bad on the south side of the hill.
The 20th Maine lead by a confederate General Chamberlain. Later when Chamberlain reported on the site, that blood was everywhere.
The Union army forced the Confederate army to retreat from Little Roundtop.
DAY 3
On the third day,
the third day of battle of gettysburg
was knone as pickits charge. General lee thot that the union forces would be ready to brake after two days of battle. the confederates cannons shot at union lines for over an hour.
but did little damage.
a mile wide confederate force pushed up the hill .
DAY 3 cont.
blasted the Confederate forces with cannon and rifle fight weakening what remained of the Confederate forces. General George Pickett, of the union army chose this time to charge Confederate forces which is why the third day of Gettysburg is known as Pickets Charge

After the confederates retreated, there were 7,500 dead bodies from the three day of battle . General Meade chose not to peruse lee which angered Lincoln. Lincoln thought Meade's pursuit could be the end of the Civil war.
