There once was a little girl named Emmy. She was usually a happy little girl who loved to play with her friends.

In the summer, Emmy would invite her friends over to play in her backyard. Emmy was a happy girl in the summer.

In the fall, they loved to rake leaves and enjoy the smell of the crisp fall air. Emmy was still a happy girl.
As the winter months came Emmy became very sad and did not know why.

Emmy no longer asked her friends to play with her. Instead, she would sit at home next to the fire.

Emmy's mom was worried about her, so she took her to see a Doctor. The doctor took some blood samples and saw that she had Seasonal Affective Disorder. He said that this was a type of sadness that happens in the winter months due to lack of sunlight.

The doctor treated Emmy with the use of light therapy during the winter months, which acted like natural sunlight. This made her feel much better.

Finally, one warm, sunny day in April, Emmy realized that the snow was beginning to melt.

Emmy no longer felt sad. She invited her friends over and they played outside and enjoyed the weather. Emmy was a very happy girl again.
