The Castle of Chambord
It is in the heart of the game-rich forest of Boulogne that François I had built in the 16th century, on the site of a castle, an imposing pleasure house with rich decorations.
Masterpiece of the Renaissance, the Castle of Chambord is, with its 440 pieces, its 800 carved capitals and its 282 chimneys, the largest of the castles of the Loire!
This building, both grandiose and elegant, at the feudal level, is composed of a central tower with four round towers and an enclosure. Its famous double revolution staircase is a real architectural feat. This ingenious construction allowed two people to go up and down the stairs without crossing each other!

The name of the monument, Pantheon, comes from the Greek pántheion (πάνθειον), which means "of all the gods".
