Hello friends! My name is Dakota, and I'm an adventurous dog! Today, I'm going to take you on a wild expedition!

I live in a beautiful southern state called Tennessee. The mountains are my favorite place to visit because they are gorgeous, secluded, and spacious!

My first backpacking trip was in North Carolina because it is quite dog-friendly. I loved this long trip because there was plenty of tall grass and broad fields.

Sometimes, I am a lucky pup and find delicious snacks.

Ripe berries, crunchy

bugs, and

the occasional scrumptious mushroom

are my favorites.

There are so many wonderful, odoriferous smells in the woods! These pink flowers smelled sweet and attracted dozens of busy bees! I snacked on a few of the bees.

There are various animals that live in the woods too. This spotted horse and

his long, flowing

mane quickly became

my best friend. We

frolicked together,

even though our new friendship scared mom. Mom can be overprotective.

Backpacking isn't always fun. Nasty weather can make it scary and wet. Dark clouds and loud thunder make me snuggle with my brave moms for safety.

Sometimes it snows down big, frosty snowflakes! Even in the blistering cold, there is always a gorgeous view, peaceful moment, or proud summit to keep motivation strong.

The weather is unpredictable, but when it is sunny and warm, the mountains are relaxing and tranquil.

Summer months are humid and sweltering. If it is too hot to hike, I prefer to swim in the cool, refreshing lakes closer to Knoxville.
