A long time ago, there was a scary dragon who lived in a cave on Grammar Mountain.

Every one was terrified of the dragon!

The only one who was not scared of the dragon was a girl named Laura. She loved to read and was eager to learn more about the dragon.

The blue and purple dragon traveled down to The Village .

The villagers were scared and ran away as fast as they could. All of the villagers were terrified that the dragon would destroy their homes.

Laura was very brave and calm. She carefully walked up behind the dragon.

The gigantic dragon turned around. Laura thought the dragon was scary but she remained brave.

The dragon looked at her inquisitively. Laura was eager to say, "What is your name?"

The gigantic dragon stood up. Laura quickly raised her shield.

She was very confused when the dragon started to cry.

"Why are you sad?" Laura asked warmly.

"No one has ever been kind to me. I have always been so lonely."

"The villagers blamed me for the fire that destroyed the castle but it was not my fault! It was a storm that did it."

"I never believed that!" Laura declared honestly. "We can be friends!"

The dragon was so excited to finally have a friend.
