Hello! I'm Matthew Willis and I'm writing another book. This book is about all the underwater animals and how Dangerous they can be. So here we go!
Most species of shark eat things like fish, crustaceans, mollusks, plankton, krill, marine mammals and other sharks. Sharks have a very strong sense of smell that allows them to smell blood in the water from miles away.
#1: Shark
Barracudas come in many different sizes. The Largest species of barracuda can reach 6 feet in length and weigh up to 103 pounds. Upper part of the body is covered with scales that can be different colors
#2: Barracuda
Jellyfish and jelly-like sea creatures come in an immensely diverse range of forms. Animals that are typically called jellyfish belong to the phylum Cnidaria, which includes over 10,000 species. However, some jelly-like animals, like the comb jelly, belong to the phylum Ctenophora. This taxonomic difficulty has lead marine biologists to ask if there's even such a thing as a jellyfish.
#3: Jellyfish
The largest species of stingray measure 6.5 feet in length and can weigh up to 790 pounds. Stingrays are closely related to sharks. Their long tails usually have a spine and venom. Stingrays eat clams, shrimp, and mussels. Stingrays don't use their eyes to find prey
#4: Stingray
The killer whale or Orca is a toothed whale belonging to the oceanic dolphin family, of which it is the largest member. Killer whales have a diverse diet, although individual populations often specialize in particular types of prey.
#5: Killer whale
Lionfish have feathery pectoral fins that are used to attract smaller prey. On the other hand, same features keep the predators on the safe distance. lionfish has more than thirteen (up to 18) venomous spines on the back side of the body. Venom is used only for self-defense (lionfish does not hunt using these spikes).
#6: Lionfish
Almost all species of puffer fish contain toxin (called tetrodotoxin) that can be 1200 times stronger than cyanide. One puffer fish contains enough toxin to kill 30 adult men. Toxin is not located in all parts of the puffer fish, and certain cultures prepare puffer fish (meal called fugu in Japan) as a delicacy.
#7: Pufferfish
The Blue-ringed octopus is only about 20 cm (8 in) long, but it is one of the most venomous animals in the ocean. Its bite causes paralysis (loss of feeling) in the muscles and can easily kill an adult human. The bite is so deadly because the octopus has toxic saliva (spit)
#8: Blue-ringed octopus
But there are also a lot of underwater animals that are gentle and calm like...
Dolphins are a widely distributed and diverse group of aquatic mammals. They are an informal grouping within the order Cetacea, excluding whales and porpoises, so to zoologists the grouping is Paraphyletic.
